Who’s your Valentine?

Valentine’s day is literally around the corner, smiling at me sarcastically because it knows that this is going to be another year I will be spending it alone.  I don’t want this to be sad, “woe is me” type party, rather a moment to rejuvenate in!

I definitely know that I’m not the only one…if I am, then maybe we need to take a moment of silence for me being the only person in the world who’s going to be spending this Valentine’s day alone.

Let’s get back to reality, of course I’m not the only one! And if I was, would it really be that sad? That’s one of the main issues single people go through, we think it’s bad that we don’t have anyone. Or that we’re not good enough (that’s another post), whatever negative thought that could go through a single person mind, they are ALL FALSE.

Don’t let those thoughts consume you!!

As a single person, to the rest of my single people, I thought it would be good to come up with 3 ways to spend this Valentine’s day happy!  Not saying that you’re sad, but you know how good it feels to have someone treat you with things that you love! hmmm….

  1. GET OUT OF YOUR FEELINGS

    • I don’t want to come off as harsh, but I need to keep it real! Most of the time we are in our feelings because we’re alone and don’t have anyone to spend the day with. This is ONE day out of the year and you’re just now realizing that you don’t have anyone? To avoid sitting in your feels, try not to surround yourself with other couples.  Clearly, this is a very intimate time for couples and they become very affectionate.  So when you’re around these couples, you see how beautiful their relationship is, you start admiring it more, then you realize that you don’t have anyone.  Now you’re daydreaming about how much better your day would be if you were able to spend it with someone special.  Or is that just me? If not, then you should probably get out of your feelings!
  2. TREAT YOURSELF

    • I know you’ve heard this one before, but it’s the truth!  It’s all about self-care and you really do have to care for yourself.  How do you expect someone to care for you when you don’t even care for you?  You don’t have to wait until Tuesday to treat yourself, you should be treating yourself every day, truth be told!! You should plan days out of the week, where you do something special for yourself.  Whether that be going to a Spa, talking a walk (when it’s not below 0◦), reading a book, exercising, etc.. You know what you like to do, so do that! #TREATYOURSELF
  3. STAY BUSY

    • When I am busy, I accomplish so much and I feel EXTREMELY good!! I usually like to eat, or at least I believe that I like to eat.  How about this: when I’m bored, I LOVE food, like I will eat anything (according to what I can eat as a vegan!).  I’m not happy when I’m bored and I feel that food will make me happy, which is why I eat so much. Lol However, I have come to realize that when I’m busy, I barely eat.  Not saying that barely eating is a good thing, but I eat based on when my body is hungry.  That example probably went far south, but when your mind is busy, you don’t have time to focus on the negatives; like, what is a negative?  There is ALWAYS something to do, especially when it comes to bettering yourself! Girl bye…you better stop playing with yourself!

I forgot that Valentine’s Day is on a work day, so some of your co-workers may get flowers or chocolate sent to them…but don’t worry about them, just keep doing your work. Lol, Have you thought about sending yourself some edible arrangements because those are so delicious??  And if someone asks who sent them, no need to lie, just say you did because you don’t need another person to send you treats when you can send yourself treats😆 But for real, if you do that, there’s definitely no need to lie. #HOLLA
